We’ve been playing the “OK Google” game since Sunday. Bilgin’s passions are usually infectious. Technology is on top of his list. We kept raining our commands on to Google one after another.
-OK Google, what does a crocodile sound like?
-OK Google, what does my day look like?
-OK Google, I’m bored.
And the list goes on. We had fun. There was one little thing, slightly hurt. While we were racing with our commands, Kaan tried his as well, only to find out that Google didn’t quite understand what he said and it kept saying -I’m sorry, I don’t know how to help with that-. Kaan got really frustrated and took himself out of the room. There I was telling Ada and Bilgin off, so he could get another chance and in the meantime, I was trying to get him to say it a little clearer. “Kaan, say it slower, like this -What……..does…….a………tiger………sound……..like?”
He was smarter than me. He knows his capabilities at this stage of his life and instead he chose to ask me “Mummy, ask Google what does a dragon sound like?” Google doesn’t understand him but I do. He gets frustrated with the world but he’s OK with me these days. I understand him better, communicate better and it’s not as painful as it used to be. My little boy is still a fragile dot in my chest but I’m sure he’ll manage the be the hero of his path.
