I’ve been mesmerized by the lyrics of this song for a very long time. The music itself is a magic too. There were times I listened to it over an over again. Luckily for me Ada loves the song even more and sings it along almost all the way. So we’ve had it playing in the car for the last six months I would say. It’s poetic, inspiring and strong. I met Sarah Blasko a little over a month ago, such beautiful person and musician, all in one. This is We Won’t Run by this amazing woman;
Pages turning, lights are burning
See what you could not see
It’s plain as the day
The night makes you pay
For what was hidden underneath
Longing to leave
But begging to feel that
Something will make you stay
Gotta believe that this all leads
Somewhere we’ve never been
We won’t run, we can fight
All that keeps us up at night
There is far to go now
Let’s not waste a minute more
In denies
I always thought you knew yourself
Better than anyone
The season was lost
And you started listening
To everyone else
But cast in as devil
I’ve got the metal
The means to make things right
Tired of the guilt
Tired of being sorry
Well, haven’t we suffered enough?
We won’t run, we can fight
All that keeps us up at night
There is far to go now
Let’s not waste a minute more
We won’t run, we can fight
All that keeps us up at night
There is far to go now
Let’s not waste a minute more
But oh, that our eyes will be open
Oh, that our eyes will be open
Oh, that our eyes will be open
Oh, that our eyes will be open
We won’t run, we can fight
All that keeps us up at night
There is far to go now
Let’s not waste a minute more
We won’t fear, we can fight
All that we can bring to light
There is far to go now
Let’s not waste a minute more
‘Cause we won’t run, we can fight
All that keeps us up at night
There is far to go now
Let’s not waste a minute more
Of our lives, our lives, our lives
Of our lives, our lives, our lives
